The Appalling Hamlet

Ikshit was delighted. He was heading to a small hamlet called “Kieru” from his NGO to raise awareness among the people about “Malnutrition”. He intended to leave for the village that evening, with his team following him the next day.

He swiftly took out his black suitcase, which he had placed in the almirah. He opened the suitcase and packed his stuff for the week that he would be spending in the village. He hurried to the station after packing everything. He boarded the train and exited at the Kieru village station around 11:30 p.m. He’d been to a lot of places, the railway stations were often busy but this one was quiet. He got a creepy feeling. When he turned back, he noticed that no other passengers had stepped off and that the train had already gone. He made his way up to a modest motel near the station.

He was shown a room by the receptionist. The motel appeared to be deserted. He showered and opened his luggage. He had the shock of his life. Instead of clothing, he found a corpse in his suitcase. He was scared to death. He shut the suitcase. He checked his phone, which had no signal. He opened the suitcase again to be sure that it wasn’t his imagination. He opened the suitcase and discovered clothing. He double-checked and discovered a corpse again. He was completely perplexed. He came out of the room with his suitcase. He was determined to get rid of it. He noticed that there was no one in the reception area. When he stepped outdoors, he noticed a forest nearby. He flung his suitcase.

He entered his room and sat. He couldn’t sleep all night. He expected his colleagues to join him the next day, and everything would be better. The next morning, he went outside. The village appeared to be deafeningly quiet. He examined his phone and found no signal. He was walking towards the forest when he noticed many corpses with grinning faces hanging from branches in his clothing. He was terrified. He ran from there as fast as he could. He noticed a train approaching. He finally got into the train.

He examined his phone once again and noticed the signal. He instantly called his colleagues, who informed him that the name of the village had been misspelt. There is no such place as “Kieru.” He was more terrified. He hoped the train would take him back to his place. He shut his eyes and fell asleep quickly since he was exhausted. When he opened his eyes, he had already arrived at his destination. He exhaled a sigh of relief. He rushed to his house. He noticed his black suitcase, which was open and had his belongings, lying in his living room. Everything, including the clothes and suitcase, appeared to be normal. He couldn’t believe what had happened and decided not to speak about it to anyone.
