Ephialtes

I am trembling with terror,

Sweat pouring down like a river,
The frozen nightmares had returned.
They are more ferocious this time.
I can’t seem to get away from them.
I screech at the top of my lungs but
My voice won’t leave my throat.
The shadow gets closer and closer.
The scim is definitely visible to me.
It is dripping with blood.
It smells strongly of iron and dust.
My hands and legs are in torment,
to extricate themselves from the rope’s grasp,
Lips plead to be free from the piece of cloth
But only the crimson eyes could speak,
They wail out loud with a well of tears
No one hears me out,
Survival seems too far,
I am afraid my heart would cease beating,
Before the shadow gets any closer,
The lights in the room flicker wild,
I am trying to break free,
But I can’t flee neither can I hide,
The flickering lights shed on the shadow,
There is no human around,
The shadow seems of a one-eyed monster,
I see a stinging thorn on his skull,
He gorges on blood and flesh,
I am no hero to save myself,
Nor is any knight coming for it,
The sharp sword is drawn closer to me,
The skin of my neck could feel it now,
The next stroke would behead me,
Leaving my body struggling to give up,
No, I can’t hold any more,
Fright has caused my body to freeze,
I close my eyes to end up dead,
Oh! I have woken up in my room,
The room is dark with no ray of light,
I wish to escape the sleeping earth,
I am scared to lose myself to sleep,
The frozen nightmares might reappear,
I wouldn’t make it this time,
I turn on the lights to find,
The pillows drenched in sweat,
Clothes as damp as standing in the rain,
I am sick of the frozen nightmares,
I am self-bullied every now and then,
I pour in water in a glass,
Suddenly the lights start flickering,
Displaying a terrific shadow near
And the water turns into blood,
It’s time for my Frozen nightmares to hold true.
